Differences of Habitat
Giant Pandas: We mainly live in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces in China. We are listed as vulnerable species in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. We are national first-class protected wildlife
Red pandas: We have distribution in China, Nepal, Bhutan, India, and Myanmar. At present, our global population is less than 10000 and is listed as an endangered species in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. We are a national second level protected wildlife.
Food Differences
Giant Pandas: 99% of the ingredients in our recipe are bamboo. My family tends to choose the parts of bamboo with higher nutritional quality (leaves, shoots, tender branches, stems) as their preferred food.
Red Pandas: We mainly eat bamboo shoots, leaves, and tender branches. In the wild, we also eat wild fruits, leaves, moss, and so on.
Height Differences
Giant pandas: When we reach adulthood between the ages of 4 and 6, we can grow up to 160-180 centimeters in length and weigh 80-150 kilograms. We can live to 18 to 20 years old in the wild; Under captive conditions, they can generally live to around 25 years old, or even longer.
Red Pandas: We are 40-63 centimeters long and weigh around 5 kilograms. We can generally live to around 12 and a half years old.
