According to Xinhua News Agency, on September 22, it was learned from the launch conference of the "2024 Global Panda Partner Conference and Panda Home · Panda Homeland Culture & Creativity Contest" that the "2024 Global Panda Partners" is scheduled to be held in Chengdu, Sichuan at the end of November.
The giant panda is a national treasure of China, loved by people all over the world, and a friendship envoy to strengthen biodiversity conservation globally. The 2024 Global Panda Partner Conference, with the theme of "Harmonious Coexistence between Humans and Nature," tells vivid stories of beautiful Sichuan, beautiful China, and global ecological civilization practices.
The activity consists of an opening ceremony, a culture & creativity contest, and a series of supporting activities. The conference will gather panda partners such as government agencies, professionals, and the general public, and help them move in the same direction through cross-border, cross time, and cross civilization dialogue, communication, and cooperation.
At the opening ceremony, it is planned to release a think tank report on ecological civilization construction jointly written by Xinhua News Agency, a national high-end think tank, and authoritative institutions; Invite domestic and foreign experts and scholars to give speeches and conduct in-depth discussions; Publish the list of "Panda Partner Cities" and "Panda Partner Brands"; Initiate the 'Panda Protection Declaration'; Collaborate with professional medical institutions, giant panda conservation organizations, and social welfare forces to launch panda public welfare activities.
The activity also plans to organize activities such as the Global Panda Partner Sichuan Tour Dialogue, Flagship Species Conservation and International Cooperation Dialogue for Giant Pandas, and Sino foreign Cultural and Tourism Exchange and Mutual Learning Conference.
As an important part of this event, the "Panda Homeland · First Panda Homeland Culture and Creativity Contest" hosted by the Chengdu Municipal People's Government was launched on September 22, soliciting original works centered around the image or culture of giant pandas from around the world. The contest has set up five categories of best works awards, including "Best Sculpture Work", as well as three special awards.
