On December 3rd, a video circulating online showed that the giant panda Fu Bao appeared to be trembling.
According to the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center, on the morning of December 3rd (Beijing time), the Shenshuping Base of the Panda Center discovered that the panda Fu Bao had abnormal conditions. At present, the condition of the panda Fu Bao is being closely monitored, and it has been retracted into its inner circle. The panda center's keepers and veterinarians are inspecting it to determine the cause of any abnormalities.
During its public appearance in June this year, its health condition was good.
On April 3, 2024, Fu Bao ended its stay at the Aibao Amusement Park in South Korea and returned to Sichuan, China, where it stayed at the Wolong Shenshuping Base of the Panda Center. After more than two months of quarantine and transitional adaptation, it was introduced to the public on June 12, 2024. This appearance has become a sensation on major social platforms, and can be described as the top trend in the panda world.
After the quarantine period, Fu Bao moved into the Wolong Shenshuping base and gradually integrated into the life of the giant panda population by exchanging sounds and smells with neighboring giant pandas through the communication window between the panda enclosures. During the period, after observation and evaluation by the breeding team, the overall adaptation of Fu Bao was good.

On May 28, 2024, the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center released a video stating that there was a broken hair on the neck of Fu Bao. "No pathogenic bacteria were found during testing, and there were no abnormal phenomena such as allergies, scabs, or thickening of the skin area. Pandas traveling in South Korea often experience shedding, and Fubao is not an exception. After examination, there were no obvious abnormal symptoms such as increased dandruff, redness, and ringworm in the area where Fu Bao had broken hair, and no pathogen causing the hair was found. After being transferred to the breeding farm of the base for a period of time, the phenomenon of hair breakage gradually improved. Experts indicate that hair breakage is a common phenomenon in giant pandas, often related to seasonal changes, environmental factors, and fluctuations in hormone levels.
