Panda Plush Under The Kidult Style

Recently, playing with plush toys has become popular on the Chinese internet. For example, when entering a plush toy store,  you will see the staff pretending to hold the potted plush toys and to water them carefully, who is surrounded by a group of people. Besides, famous plush brand — Jellycat's very popular "lively eggplant" plush toy has even become an emoji on the Internet. Meanwhile, in the Gansu Provincial Museum, the staff of the gifts shop cooks a "plush version" of Spicy Hot Pot for visitors. In Xi'an, a popular "steamed bun plush" has also appeared, which is based on the meat bun. There are also pancakes and fruit dolls in the former residence of Zhang Xueliang(Chinese famous general in Tianjin, traditional Chinese medicine plush toys in Shaoxing city, creative hairy crabs dolls in Suzhou Museum, and plush of Zhu Geliang's feather fans in Wuhou Temple in Chengdu(Zhu Geliang, celebrated adviser to Liu Bei, founder of the Shu Han Dynasty). These seemingly childish but actually cured plush toys are loved by so many adults.

According to data from the world-renowned market research company NPD Group, the proportion of kidult consumers aged 18 and above in toy sales is gradually increasing, especially in the fields of collectibles, puzzle toys, and plush toys. Why do so many adults like so-called children's toys? What is the viral kidult style?

Kidult (a blend of kid and adult) refers to a so-called grown-up who doesn't want to grow up (or at least act like an adult) and would instead prefer so-called "children's" stuff for entertainment, like cartoons, toys, comic books, Disney movies, etc.

However, with the increasing pressure in today's society, many young people seeking to relieve stress are trying to experience a "rejuvenation" psychologically by purchasing children's toys in order to be able to "escape" from the real world for a period of time. This is a self-healing behavior of young people to alleviate mental anxiety. Therefore, The Stuffed Animals have been viral within months, creating a new style -- kidult style. More and more adults try to seek a sense of security from childlike innocence through the interaction of plush toys, in order to escape the uncertain reality.

Panda Plush Increasingly Popular Under The Kidult Style

As plush toys become popular among adults, panda plush toys have also become popular among various age groups, especially realistic panda dolls in adults. In fact, panda plush toys have always been popular among children, but in recent years, more and more adults have also enjoyed buying panda toys, including panda plush, panda accessories, and panda bags. Young adults and even olders choose the panda plush to approach the cuteness and pureness in the natural.

Different from normal panda plush, the emerging realitic panda doll adopts a lifesize doll to simulate real pandas, making it realistic and adorable. Moreover, the texture of plush fur, the weight of plsuh appearance, and the feel of the filling are all closer to the well-scenes experience with a real panda.

Based on different panda prototypes and age sizes, manufacturers have launched lifelike panda plush toys such as 1-month-old, 3-month-old, and 5-month-old, which are popular among panda fans, such as the 3-month-old Menglan panda and the 5-month-old Huahua panda doll.

Ugly or beautiful, an increasing number of plush toys with various styles meets the different needs of the adult market, which aims to cure the youth and adult in this fast-paced society. The kidult style is invading our daily lives strongly but quitely. Therefore, there is no doubt about demands for plush toys of kidult style in consuming market.
