Regulations On Panda Live

Due to the charm of pandas and the rapid development of live streaming short videos, more and more bloggers are using cameras to live stream the dynamics of giant pandas for panda enthusiasts who cannot come to the scene. However, the phenomenon of live streaming giant pandas has sparked controversy. A group of commercial live streaming personnel engaged in behaviors such as occupying space for a long time, playing with rhythm, and demanding rewards during the live streaming process, which affected the regular order of the panda bases. Therefore, recently relevant zoos have introduced live streaming regulations to regulate the professional ethics of live streaming personnel, protect the living environment of pandas, and ensure the equal viewing rights of tourists.

1. The hazards of live streaming giant pandas.
Live streaming increases panda stress responses and reduces immunity. Flashing flashes, vigorously tapping the glass, loud noises, and noisy sounds can cause stress in giant pandas. When stress continues to increase, pandas will experience stress reactions, weakened immunity, increased susceptibility to illness, loss of appetite, reduced natural behavior, and affect panda breeding.
Live streaming marketing for tourists to watch. Long term occupancy, live streaming tipping, and other behaviors have affected the rights and feelings of other tourists to watch pandas normally, infringing on the public rights and interests of tourists.

On April 1, 2024, Beijing Zoo officially entered the peak season for visitors. The park has taken a series of active and effective management measures to regulate the behavior of live streamers of pandas, lead tourists to visit the park in a civilized manner, and improve the viewing experience.

2. Beijing Zoo introduces regulations for live streaming giant pandas
The zoo stipulates that live streaming of giant pandas requires registration and authorization.

The zoo has distributed 30 "live streaming" vests to the main streamers, each with a size of one. However, since the streamers do not come every day, the number of live streamers in the zoo is generally not up to 30, and those without registration are not allowed to live stream.

Using live streaming poles and high magnification mirrors outside the station to reduce the impact on tourists. The zoo has also added railings in the venue, standing in a fixed area, which does not affect other tourists to visit, does not disturb animal life, cannot live broadcast sales, and cannot provide random explanations.

The blogger needs to sign a commitment letter, and violating the rules three times will result in a ban on live streaming. The zoo has signed a commitment letter with the anchor to do civilized live streaming, and also listed a negative list. If the blogger violates the rules, they will be prompted once, interviewed twice, and their vest will be taken back three times, and live streaming will be prohibited.

3. Chengdu Panda Base prohibits live streaming of giant pandas
As of now, unofficial authorized organizations are prohibited from conducting live broadcasts of giant pandas at the Chengdu Panda Base. The regulations of Chengdu Panda Base are as follows: Without official permission, tourists are not allowed to carry out live streaming activities at any location in the park. The Panda Base and its authorized agencies have the right to use the image of tourists reasonably within the legal limits.

The pandas in the zoo are an important component of public cultural resources. Every tourist who buys a ticket to enter the park has the right to visit, and their display and use should also follow the principle of maximizing public interest. As a public place with limited space, the viewing characteristics of zoos determine that live streaming behavior is highly likely to disturb the experience of other tourists, thereby infringing on the rights and interests of others. At the same time, some broadcasters view pandas as a drainage tool, and disorderly live streaming can cause excessive interference to panda bears and have a negative impact on their living habits. Therefore, relevant bloggers should comply with the park's regulations before conducting live streaming and work together to create a comfortable and quiet living environment for pandas.
