4. Fubao Becomes The Latest Top Star of Wolong Panda Base
On June 12th, Fubao officially met with the public. At 1am on the same day, tourists stood outside the Wolong Shenshuping Base of the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center, waiting 11 hours before the base opened for business. Tourists who watch Fubao on the same day need to queue up. Each round can only watch for 5 minutes, and each round takes about 1 hour. As long as Fubao appears, its courtyard walls are always crowded with people. Korean tourism companies launched three panda themed tourism packages to interview giant panda conservation bases, including Wolong Shenshuping Base of China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center, Dujiangyan Irrigation Project Base of China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center and Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where "Fubao" currently lives. In May, the number of reservations for group tours to China surged by 608% year-on-year, and the enthusiasm of Koreans for giant pandas remains high. Previously, the top pandas in the base were the "little miracles" of pandas returning from their travels to the United States.
Fubao, who currently resides at the Wolong Shenshuping Base, has become a new top panda, and as he gradually adapts to the living environment in China, he will also thrive here. Netizens who are unable to visit the Wolong Shengshuping Base by themselves can watch the live broadcast and start the "cloud" mode of raising Fubao pandas.
